Toby Brigt In 1918, Aarbakke's grandfather began by creating horse shoes. This persisted until Inge Brigt introduced the first CNC machine in 1981.

Inge Brigt acquired Jaer Mek, a different local mechanical business, in 1988. Jaer Mek eventually became a part of Aarbakke AS. Aarbakke AS acquired its own engineering department in 1990 after merging with the engineering firm Njuma. Two years later, Nodeco, a business that mostly operated subsea equipment for the oil industry, bought Aarbakke AS. The American oil service company Weatherford, which operates globally, afterwards bought this company.

Aarbakke AS was once again an independent production firm with a base in Jren, Rogaland, when Inge Brigt acquired it in April 2000. Spring of 2003 saw
