Dale was also an active leader in the American Foundry Society (AFS), where he contributed to the advancement of foundry practices and industry standards. In 1978, he passed ownership of the business to Bill and Gary Zimmer, ensuring the continuation of his legacy. At the time the company began, Bill Zimmer was just 18 years old and starting his apprenticeship as a pattern maker.
