Founded in Cleveland in 1937 by master toolmaker Ernest Mehwald, Atlantic Tool & Die (ATD) has spent nearly a century evolving to meet the demands of global manufacturing. A pivotal shift in 1960 under the leadership of Frank Mehwald, current President and CEO, expanded our capabilities into high-volume stampings and established our headquarters in Strongsville, Ohio. Today, ATD is a highly respected, international powerhouse specializing in precision stamping, tooling, welding, and complex assembly. Driven by world-class engineering and a relentless commitment to quality, we operate four advanced facilities across Ohio, manufacturing plants in Harlingen, Texas, and Matamoros, Mexico, and a dedicated engineering office in Costa Rica.
