The Fullerton plant was established in 1967, but JR Controls came up with the Bench 2 Bench moniker in 2008.

On September 1, 2021, Additive Circuits Technologies LLC (ACT) acquired the product. The flexible circuit market segment will benefit from the ultra-high density capabilities of ACT's patented additive technologies.  In the end, technology will enable thinner, faster, and smaller circuits to satisfy the growing needs of the electronics industry as a whole.  High-definition flexible circuit manufacturing will become more industrialized as a result, speeding up the delivery of these kinds of products to their intended market. 

The purchase of Bench 2 Bench is a component of a bold corporate plan to simultaneously implement technology in several market sectors. The 2020 acquisition of Winonics, a manufacturer of rigid printed circuit boards, comes after Bench 2 Bench.
