Durabla Canada has international roots going back to 1922, when it began manufacturing extensive multi-purposed rubber materials for different industries worldwide. In the early 1970s, the decision was made to locate a suitable location in Ontario for the construction of a manufacturing facility focused mainly on the production of gasket materials as effective sealants with zero leakage regardless of temperature. Because of its central location to main Canadian markets and transportation hubs for international shipping, Belleville, Ontario was chosen as an ideal site to build in 1973. The original facility has been expanded twice; the second expansion, completed in 1985, has enabled Durabla Canada to expand its manufacturing capacities and research and development laboratory.
