When a special effects studio contacted Dan Stanton, who was pursuing his PhD at the time, about creating a custom electronic solution for a feature picture, EMP was born. Dan was unable to sleep until a fix was found! His path was opened up to more unresolved ideas as a result of the project's success. The rush from addressing actual electronic issues was too alluring. Dan stopped attending school and established a studio in his backyard.

Through word-of-mouth, EMP Designs has expanded steadily and now has manufacturing and research & development teams headquartered in a well-equipped 6500 square foot industrial area in Camberley. The organization has a wide range of engineering expertise and really innovative ideas. Everything is thought to be conceivable.
