Excalibur produced side steps for the South African car industry when it was first established in 1989. Due to its capacity to provide OEM components of the highest caliber, the business developed into a household name and was chosen by major automakers. Excalibur South Africa won the 1996 Supplier of the Year award and had contracts with Daimler Chrysler, Toyota, Nissan, and General Motors. 

Excalibur South Africa was sold in 2002, and in 2005, it made a comeback in Canada. The business continues to produce automobile accessories and currently provides Grandwest Enterprises, Canada's largest wholesaler.

Austin, Texas, has now been formed. Excalibur's ongoing manufacturing, research, and development operations now take place in a 41 000 square foot facility.
