G&J CNC Precision Mechanical Engineers was founded in 1987 by Geoff Wooten and his wife Jenny in Maidstone, where Geoff’s early experience with 5-axis machinery helped shape the company’s machining capabilities. After an initial setback from the Great Storm of October 1987, the business moved to the Medway City Estate near Rochester, gradually expanding from milling into multi-operation component work supported by new machine tools such as a Yang lathe (1989) and a Haas VFO (1998), which has remained in service. Following Geoff’s 2013 retirement and a period of rapid growth—driven by increasing customer demand and new investments, including additional space for advanced turning capabilities—G&J relocated to a larger facility in 2018 in Paddock Wood and joined the CTN Group since 2017 to offer complementary mass production, prototype/small-batch development, and AS9100-accredited specialist services across the UK.
