In 2005, individuals who had friends or family members who had either died from or suffered from lung disease created Haemair. The goal was to create a completely portable gadget that could be integrated into the bloodstream to eliminate carbon dioxide and provide oxygen. In essence, the gadget would increase the patient's residual lung capacity, restoring movement and prolonging life.
