IMEC was founded in 1982 in a modest metal building on the south side of Monett. The original 40 x 75-foot facility, though limited in resources, provided the foundation for the company’s growth. In its early years, operations relied entirely on manual equipment and a small team of just two employees. Continued growth led to the construction of a new facility on the north side of Monett in 1988. Since then, IMEC has expanded through four major additions, bringing its total plant space to approximately 45,000 square feet, along with an additional 1,500 square feet of office space. Today, IMEC operates with a wide range of equipment, from basic hand tools to advanced computer numerical control (CNC) machinery. The company made its first investment in CNC technology in 1987 with the purchase of a turret punch. Since then, it has evolved into a modern manufacturing facility, where all major equipment—including lasers, turret punches, press brakes, and machining centers—is CNC-operated, enabling precise, close-tolerance production.
