Suvarna Cement Ltd. was the original name of Keerthi Industries (KEERTHI). commenced operations on May 17, 1982, and has been producing cement since 1986. Since 1989, the company has been registered with BIFR. In 1999–2000, the current Management took control, turned the business around, and increased net worth. In 2002, the company's BIFR registration was cancelled. In 2005, the company's name was changed to Keerthi Industries ltd in line with the management's goal of expanding into new markets. As a result, the corporation expanded beyond cement into other industries like power, electronics, sugar, and distilleries.
