Leslie MacKenzie established MacKenzie Machine & Design, Inc. in 1958. The company was founded and run out of his home on Mill Lane in Hingham, Massachusetts. As it grew over the years, it had to relocate twice, first to the South Shore Industrial Park in Hingham, Massachusetts in 1985 and then to Rockland, Massachusetts in 1997, where it stayed for ten years. Neal MacKenzie, Leslie's son, is the company's owner and operator. MacKenzie Machine recently relocated to larger production facilities in Pembroke, MA, to keep up with the ongoing demand for its precision machining services.
