Hartwig Jaszkowiak and Wolfgang Lepping established J&L Industrie Service GmbH (a metalworking business and locksmith's shop) in Gladbeck in April 1997. The garage and courtyard where the business is located total around. 150 square meters; one employee at first.

By relocating to Bottroper Straße in April 1998, the production area is first increased to 500 square meters. At the moment, the company employs four people. The traditional machines, notably lathes, are now being transformed to CNC machines.

A year or so later, a 4500 square meter site on Luxemburger Straße was acquired for the second expansion. There are presently six employees working for the company, and the production space is 1000 square meters.
