Founded in 1986 by Al in a small garage workshop equipped with a single Hardinge manual lathe, Metal Essence, Inc. was built on a vision to establish Florida as a competitive center for high-quality American manufacturing. With a strong entrepreneurial spirit and dedication to precision machining, the company quickly earned a reputation for delivering reliable, expertly crafted components to a growing customer base. By 2001, Metal Essence had expanded into a 32,000 square-foot manufacturing facility employing 100 team members and operating more than 30 CNC machines with 24/7 production capabilities. The company supplied customers in over 10 countries and achieved high-volume production success, with certain part numbers exceeding six million pieces annually. In 2006, founders Al and Yvonne strategically transitioned the business focus from large-scale production to tight-tolerance, difficult-to-machine, medium-volume manufacturing projects requiring advanced expertise and precision. While selling the company’s production assets, they retained the Metal Essence name and continued their commitment to the industry by launching Machining Solutions, LLC, a sister company dedicated to providing consulting and operational support to manufacturers seeking improved performance and efficiency.
