The company's beginnings may be traced back to the late 1950s, when it first started manufacturing staircases, railings, concrete forms, frames, mounting brackets, and different sub-components for nearby clients.

NEWFAB soon expanded, adding turnkey equipment manufacturing and contract manufacturing of large subassemblies to its list of services.

In response to customer requests for help commercialising their product designs, the business created its own manufacturing processes and created the machinery and tooling needed to make the products.

Design Fab, a designer and manufacturer of flue gas expansion joints, dampers and related equipment for the environmental, energy and industrial markets, was acquired by the firm in 2009.

Turnkey industrial gear and equipment are value-added contract manufactured by NEWFAB, Inc., a full service metal fabrication business.
