OSH Cut was founded in July 2018 by Jacom and Caleb Chamberlain to offer an improved customer experience in on-demand metal fabrication. Over years of projects (including the virtual reality motion simulator shown here), the brothers realized that obtaining custom fabricated metal parts was far more difficult and time-consuming than it needed to be.

OSH Cut released its first online quoting app for metal laser cutting in November 2018, and has continued to release app improvements and new value-add services, including improved quoting and ordering systems, better production systems, and new services like bending and deburring. OSH Cut added bending services in October 2020, deburring and graining in May 2021, and 3D model support with automated unfolding in July 2021
