Protocast JLC is a CNC machine shop and lost wax investment casting foundry primarily located in Los Angeles, California. In late 2018, a new plant opened in Carson City, Nevada. Since 1966, Protocast JLC has been providing investment castings in steel and aluminum to a variety of industries, including aerospace, defense, medicine, energy, and communication.
John List established Protocast JLC's investment casting foundry in May 1966 with the primary purpose of pouring aluminum prototype investment castings through the use of the solid mold flask method. In the end, the business would pour prototype and production aluminum, steel, and copper-based investment castings using both the solid mold and ceramic shell methods, all the while providing a complete solution with its fully-equipped machine and assembly.
