Joyce Reynolds, full of hope and excitement for the American dream, traveled to the US from Jamaica over 40 years ago by herself with her two small children, ages one and two. She had a marketing career in Jamaica before moving to the US to start anew. She soon secured a job in New York at a fast-food restaurant, where she advanced rapidly in her career.
