Alastair, a creative innovator and problem solver by nature, having worked as a design engineer in a variety of manufacturing and engineering sector capacities for several years before founding Sanstec Design more than 25 years ago. After receiving his initial apprenticeship training at Marconi as a Mechanical and Production Engineer, Alastair realized he needed to put his engineering and creative energy to use, therefore he focused on using CAD and CAE. He found strong connections between the requirement to effectively and cheaply create and execute solutions through the creative development cycle that addresses issues of design function, user engagement, and commercial viability, and creative problem solving within a technical setting. This would necessitate the establishment and ongoing growth of a business.
