A third-generation family-owned company with a long history in engineering, Saunders & Ward. Bert Saunders, the great-grandfather of the current owners Nick and Jamie Saunders, was a British engineer who began the 20th century working on numerous hydroelectric power projects in India for Vickers Ltd.

After being hired as a project engineer for the initial Electrolytic Zinc Company's development in Hobart, Bert later relocated to Tasmania.

A.B. was acquired in 1922 by Bert and his business partner Victor Ward. Saunders & Ward was established by Buyers Engineers in Hobart and Montpelier Retreat. Victor Ward retired in 1929, leaving the Saunders family as the sole owners of the company. We are honored to work with one of Australia's oldest continually operating engineering firms.
