The founding owners of Service Iron & Steel had a goal: establish a steel plant dedicated to quality and receptive to its clients. Since its 1945 founding in a former coal and ice building, Service Iron & Steel has established a solid reputation for promptly, precisely, and high-quality customer service.

2012 saw the sale of the business by second-generation owner Frank Bernert Jr. to regular client H&M Metal Processing.
