The creator of Sterling Engineering & Fabrication, Inc., Brian Stinson, is from a family rich in machinists and iron workers. He earned a Mechanical Engineering degree from Auburn University in 1989 and has a sincere interest in the textbook side of metal working. He gained firsthand experience with the industry's general lack of quality, timely delivery, and satisfactory customer service while working as a designer and quality inspector for a company that outsourced several million dollars in steel production each year after graduating from college. Brian set out to fill the genuine demand for a fabrication business that could fulfill its commitments.

With two workers, Brian established Sterling Engineering & Fabrication in 1998. Since then, the business has expanded to employ over twenty people in a 15,000 square foot space.
