Fritz Steudler, sometimes known as F. W. Steudler, acquired Vallorbs Jewel Company in less than two years following his 1934 graduation from Millersville State Teacher's College. After learning how to adjust jewel watch bearings from his father Simon, who worked at Hamilton Watch Company, he began working there. After producing watch bearings for a while, he led the business to start selling precision aircraft instrumentation bearings.
He produced Sapphire Phonograph needles after World War II as the Victrola's recognition increased. He purchased his first Swiss Automatic Screw Machine in the early 1950s, and Vallorbs has been a quality leader in components made with screw machines ever since.
