Iain Wilkie started Wilkie Electronics in 1994.
Iain has been working in the field of electronic engineering for more than 50 years. He began his career in Glenrothes in 1969 as a technical assistant for General Instrument Microelectronics, and later moved on to Pico Electronics, where he worked on the development of the world's first single-chip handheld calculator.
He travelled widely in the USA while employed by Pico Electronics, working in New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Phoenix on the design of Metal Oxide Semiconductor Large Scale Integration (MOSLSI) semiconductor chips used in early home automation systems and the BSR Accutrac 4000 track-selecting record player.
