As a "spin-off" from a BENDIX department in Toulouse, Messrs. CALMELS, CHABRERIE, and PECH formed ACTIA in 1986. The majority of the stock is still owned by the founders' families. An electronic diagnostics tool, the first of its kind, was one of the company's earliest offerings.

Between 1992 and 2000, the ACTIA Group's identity was shaped by its merger with Alcyon, a Toulouse-based provider of Electronics Manufacturing Services, its acquisition of satellite communications specialist Sodielec, the establishment of subsidiaries in 16 nations, and, finally, its reverse merger with MORS.
