Since 1979, our company has focused on transforming ideas into models.Thomas Schäfer, our founder and managing director, began his career constructing models before deciding to go it alone in 1996 and opening Albtec Prototypes in Hechingen. The so-called stereolithography method, one of the earliest 3D printing systems in Germany, was subsequently implemented at Albtec.

In a short period of time, Mr. Schäfer was able to quickly establish a sizable clientele throughout Germany through the use of the at the time brand-new 3D printing technology as well as quicker and more expert implementation of customer requirements. Albtec swiftly became one of Germany's most in-demand companies for 3D printing and prototyping services.

With 3D printed parts, we helped Mika Häkkinen win the Formula 1 World Championship in 1999.
