The Anderson, Indiana-based Utley family established A.C.E. Inc. in 2000. In 2000, the Utleys started making military parts in a little structure next to their house. A.C.E. has expanded tremendously and is now housed in a space with 11,000 square feet. Over 300 contracts with the Department of Defence and over 100 with businesses have been won by the organisation. The majority of this work has been done in the markets for electronic/electrical design and assembly, and A.C.E. intends to keep growing in these industries.

For companies including Altairnano, Enerdel, Xtreme Alternative Defence Systems, Baker Ballistics, Air Lift Services, Clipper Creek, ECC, Department of Defence, DCMA, DLA, and many more, the A.C.E. Engineering Department has supplied design services. By design, the business will continue to support the Department of Defence.
