As a division of Northern Apex Corporation (Incorporated in 1994), API Alliance - "Partners In Design and Production" was established in 2008. Initially, Northern Apex was a contract assembly facility for electronic and electro-mechanical components.

Within Northern Apex, a separate division was established in 2000 with the goal of pursuing, developing, and integrating RFID technologies. Success in integrating Northern Apex-RFID products and solutions can be attributed to the skilled assembly team, competent engineering design team, and innovative software integration. Northern Apex - Electronics and Electro-Mechanical Assembly split off from Northern Apex Corporation in January 2008 and rebranded as API Alliance, Inc. This branch was established to give our various operations more "internal" clarity. All of the Adaptek firms, including Automated Laser, and API Alliance continue to collaborate closely.
