Founded in 1994 by Larry Erickson, Auscon Inc. began as a small operation in his basement and was officially incorporated in 1996. As demand increased, the company moved to Larry’s garage in 2000, then expanded into a barn and additional garage space on his property in 2006. Continued growth led to the addition of rented space in 2012, operating alongside the barn facility. In 2017, Auscon relocated to a 4,500-square-foot building to support increasing production needs, followed by a 1,200-square-foot expansion in 2020. By 2023, all operations were consolidated into a single 12,183-square-foot facility, which expanded again in 2025 to a total of 16,345 square feet. Now led by Larry’s son, Brian Erickson, Auscon remains a proud family-owned business dedicated to serving OEMs across the Midwest and beyond. Short for “Austin Connection,” Auscon was founded on the belief that OEMs in Southern Minnesota deserve a local, cost-effective contract manufacturer for their electronic assembly needs. For nearly 30 years, Auscon has been a trusted EMS partner in the region. The company has built its reputation on delivering high-quality electronic manufacturing services—including wire harnesses, printed circuit board (PCB) assemblies, electro-mechanical assemblies, and full box builds—while maintaining flexibility, consistency, and a strong commitment to customer service.
