Thomas Karnowka established BK Electric in 1995. In 1990, Thomas earned a BSEE from Colorado State University. Thomas spent more than five years working in the design engineering group of a rapidly growing consumer electronics company, which is now a Fortune-500 company. During that time, he was directly involved in every facet of product development, from designing circuits at the component level to ramping up production in Singapore, Korea, Hong Kong, and Mexico.

Thomas founded BK Electric with the belief that the path to product development should be easily accessible to a wide range of customers without compromising integrity, service quality, workmanship, attention to detail, or ongoing support. Thomas saw the need for low-cost, outsourced engineering and manufacturing services by both large corporations and entrepreneurs, and he pursued his personal passion for electronics design.
