About Company

On November 15, 1988, Elkhart Plastics was established in a 16,000 square foot building in Elkhart, Indiana. The facility only had one rotomolding machine, and its main objective was to provide service to Northern Indiana's recreational vehicle industry. In the Elkhart production facility, the original machine is still in operation.

Jack Welter, the business vice president for rotational moulding at the company, started working for Elkhart Plastics in 1989 and has spent more than 30 years there.

In 1991, Middlebury, Indiana saw the opening of a new Elkhart Plastics location. In this city, Elkhart Plastics invented rotomolded storage bins for RVs and led the way in the pontoon industry's switch from wood to plastic seating.
