Like many Silicon Valley startups, Flex Interconnect Technologies (FIT) began modestly in December 1998 in a 2,000 square foot empty warehouse facility devoid of any equipment.
The company's primary goal was to offer its clientele options centered around flexible circuit technologies. In the first project, an application developer was helping a designer who was creating a 5-layer shielded flex with impedance control specifications. FIT provided assistance to a designer who was inexperienced with flex circuits by helping with material stack up, impedance calculations, and design review for manufacturing viability and dependability. The designer received a high-quality product on schedule and within three weeks, which covered the first month's rent.
