Robert Jacobs, the creator of Jacobs Tool, who had spent the majority of his career in the manufacturing industry, felt in 1999 that the market required a machining supplier that built its business on a foundation of trust, justice, and honesty.

Additionally, he believed that the continued significance of skilled trades was essential for the prosperity of the future. With these beliefs in mind and a little perseverance, Jacobs Tool & Mfg. was founded.
