Beginning in 1975, John Carney operated Customized Acrylics in Miami, Florida, and then moving to Hialeah, Florida, as Custom Acrylic Creations. This business continued to fabricate acrylics until 1999, when UPD Plastics was established, and it was reincorporated in 2009, bringing its total experience with acrylic fabrication under John Carney's direction to 45 years.
