The printed circuit board was not created by Variosystems' founders. The Austrian Paul Eisler, who created it in the late 1930s, deserves credit for it. The printed circuit board, however, was the Variosystems product around which everything first centred. 1993 consequently held a special significance for the three visionaries Peter Germann, Norbert Bachstein, and Peter Ermish. It was the year that Variosystems was introduced. At that time, there was still a significant amount of manual labour involved in printed circuit board assembly. So, with a lot of passion and numerous night shifts, the first orders were carried out on a kitchen table. Only someone with a clear understanding of where this is going will make such an effort.
