After the First World War, the second generation of plastics (Ambrolite, Galalith, Rhodoid, etc.) began to emerge. Due to the inventiveness of the local mechanics, they arrived as geometrically shaped rods and plates that could be converted utilising automatic machinery.
The advent of new machineries and the post-World War II economic rebound paved the way for the age of plastics.
