Henry J. Witkowski established Port Erie Plastics in 1953 in a modest structure in Erie, Pennsylvania, with a single injection molding machine. East of Erie near Harborcreek, Port Erie Plastics bought a 22-acre site, where they erected a small production facility next to a golf club in 1966. We have grown multiple times, but the most recent years saw an extraordinary growth spike. We acquired an additional 47 acres across the street in 2002, constructed two separate 100,000-square-foot warehouses, and then added a 75,000-square-foot warehouse. Our manufacturing facility received a 40,000 square foot addition in 2018.
The manufacturing and storage facility for Port Erie Plastics today occupies 615,000 square feet over four buildings on 69 acres near Troupe Road. On average, we have roughly 90 injection molding machines.
