Incorporated in 1977 is Rodrigo and Sons. It was founded with the support of Mr. Senarath Rodrigo, who served as the organization's founder and first chairman. Mrs. Malini Rodrigo, the husband of Mr. Senerath Rodrigo, was a great supporter of his vision for the business.The business had modest beginnings because it was merely a small-scale manufacturer of moulds with one lathe machine. After three decades, it has now become one of Sri Lanka's top mould manufacturers.

As the company prospered more, it started to grow and diversify into other similar industries, like plastic manufacture. The business is also recognised with bringing Sri Lanka's first manually operated injection moulding machine.
