Although Cipsacircuits, SA, as it is now called, was established in December 1982, its real genesis took place in another location. A company that produced electrical components chose to start manufacturing its own circuits in 1972, and one person was tasked with doing this because of the limited supply of electronic material available at the time. Single-layer and unmetallized two-layer circuits totaling about 30 m2 were produced each month using a wholly manual method.

The workforce then increased to six employees, a first significant investment in machinery was made, and production significantly increased.
