When mold maker and injection molder Ken Simms relocated from Colorado to San Antonio, Texas, in 1982, he established Aire Masters of San Antonio, which later became the parent company of Aire Plastics. In 1989, Ken, a close friend of the Post family, passed away suddenly following a heart attack.
On the Post family's land near Adkins, Texas, Terry Post ran a car dealership.
Terry assisted the Simms family in maintaining the company and later purchased the plastics division in the same year. He turned his auto repair shop into a manufacturing facility for plastics.
Terry didn't have any knowledge of or experience with injection molding when he started Aire Plastics. He had learned how to work with people from his expertise constructing boilers for power plants.
