Bert and Glenn Keats established the Keats Manufacturing Company on Cicero Avenue on the northwest part of Chicago on October 1, 1958. Keats Manufacturing began as a modest retail facility with only three personnel and two equipment. Established in 1967 in a 2,500 square foot space in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Decimal Engineering, Inc. It remained in Fort Lauderdale but relocated to a 4,000 square foot building a few years later.
